PARE Project Materials
(Prevalence of Antibiotic Resistance in the Environment)

Project Contact: Carol Bascom-Slack ([email protected])

If your high school or college course is participating in the PARE project, we offer a kit of materials in case you don't have the time or proper facilities to prepare the needed sterile reagents. We sell kit sizes based on student groups of 3-4 per group. You tell us the number of student groups in your course and the agar plates you want to use - Nutrient, MacConkey, or R2A. The materials provided for each group are: 5 agar plates with 10 ug/ml amphotericin B, 3 agar plates with 3 ug/ml tetracycline and 10 ug/ml amphotericin B, 3 agar plates with 30 ug/ml tetracycline and 10 ug/ml amphotericin B, 5 1-ml sterile transfer pipets, 11 0.2-ml sterile transfer pipets, and 60 4-mm sterile glass beads for spreading plates.

Cost = (# student groups x $25/student group) + shipping/handling (depends on size of order)
